This project highlights the work from Great Lakes on a project in Willie's hometown which was a real treat. The project was the first phase of many in reconstructing the Brady's Bluff trail system at Perrot State Park in Trempealeau, WI. The first phase of the project involved many loads of materials being moved up the bluff to create and fix water diversions along the top half of the trail.  I was able to find a few local volunteers to help me over the length of the project. A special thanks to Bill, Katie, Paul and Forest for helping out with the project.

In the section of trail the CCC stone cribbing on the downhill side of the trail was in need of repair. Luckily, we were able to work with the park to find stone just like the CCC used at a local quarry.  In a couple of years the stone will be weathered and have lichen to match the CCC stone. Many loads of surfacing and fill stone were hauled up the bluff to create outslope on the trail again. Ten steps were also installed over this section of trail. The trail is 24 inches wide after the work was completed.  Which allows more space between hikers and the rattlesnakes that like to sun themselves on the sandstone next to the trail.
